- a raised plant bed at a sunny location has enabled the growth of a vegetable garden by the children.
- Previously, the garden was not successful due to bad topsoil and shade. This was rectified in The transformation of the yard.
- There are sandpits with tensile shades.
- natural materials like logs and grass pavers have been used throughout in the furniture and pathways.
