Description
- Darling Harbour is an area for entertainment on the western edge of the central business district of Sydney.
- It has parklands, native landscapes and open space and incorporating water features, public artworks, plazas and event spaces.
- Improved pedestrian, cycle and public transport connections have created improved connectivity between immediate neighbourhoods, the harbour and the Sydney city centre.
- Integration of public landscape and art with architecture – maximising the public open space, cultural features, connectivity and views.
- There are 630 new trees, native species, and 9,000m2 of additional green space.
- The design has improved walkability and has increased public space.
- The project has a six-star Green Star Communities rating from the Green Buildings Council of Australia.
