-The project aims to improve the streetscape of an existing boulevard through increased greening and creation of different spaces for pedestrian activity. -The pavement width is increased from 12.5 meters to 17 meters which will preserve the century-old trees and provide space for two new rows of trees. -6 meters of the pavement is allotted to pedestrian movement, while the remaining 11 meters under the tree canopies would be used for recreation. -The recreational area features benches, children’s play areas and bar terraces. -The vehicular lane sizes are reduced and a central protected 4 meter wide cycle lane is introduced. -Tree-lined zones incorporate mixed pavement(grass pavers) and an automatic watering system using phreatic water that ensures that the plants are irrigated.
