Description
  • It is a low-rise suburban neighborhood that was built as the Olympic Village for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. 
  • Sustainable measures were implemented throughout the project. It features waste recycling, solar energy and environmentally friendly transport options were used during the Games. 
  • It was the largest solar-powered suburb at the time of its construction. 
  • It is designed as a walkable neighborhood with cycle lanes and walkways connecting important points in the surrounding areas. The suburb is well connected with bus services. 
  • The buildings consist of low-rise apartments and townhouses
  • Greenery is prominent throughout the site which has pocket parks and tree-lined streets. Every home has access to a green space within 400m
  • It was developed on brownfield site
  • Wastewater is treated in-situ and directed towards a restored wetland near the property. 
  • The houses are designed according to passive design principles such as window awnings, pergolas and deciduous tree planting.
