Description

-CHILD-FRIENDLY A pedestrian-friendly plaza runs diagonally across the district, indicated by the staggered pavement pattern. It provides area for play and leisure.

  • SHARED STREET The use of on-street parking and green patches, reduces the width of the road, to create a safer street for pedestrians
  • LIGHT PAVEMENT The lighter coloured pavement indicates pedestrian areas and is reflective, thus reducing heat-island effect.
  • STREET FURNITURE The plaza is designed with elements such as benches, cycle stands and human
  • scaled lighting.
  • PUBLIC TERRACES The change in level in the area is treated with staircases, with larger steps for seating on either side. The functional staircase is converted into a small-scale amphitheatre
