Description
- It was the first Olympic Village to be constructed in the history of the Olympic Games. It was the first attempt at providing specialised accommodation solely for the purpose of housing athletes attending the Games.
- It consists of 66 wooden huts arranged on a plot close to the Olympic stadium. The accommodation was meant only for male athletes.
- The wooden huts were modest and could house 3 people each.
- Additional community services such as currency exchange and post offices were provided in the Village.
- The village was completely demolished after the Games. The site has been built over today with no remnant of the huts
