Description

-RESIDENTIAL ALLEY The alley maintains human-scale with its low-rise housing and pedestrian character. Patio tables and plants spill onto the alley creating a close-knit village atmosphere.

  • GREEN ROOFS Some buildings have green roofs. Green roofs help provide thermal insulation. They act as a water buffer, leading to lower water run-off.
  • PERMEABLE STREET Most of the roads have been paved with a lighter coloured paving stone. They enable water infiltration. Their colouration increses reflectivity reducing heat-island effect.
  • RAINWATER HARVESTING Rainwater from roofs and roads is collected by above ground gutters that run around all the buildings. It flows through a series of ponds and cascades. It is led to the central canal in the district
