Three days of Urban Future. 22 in Helsingborg have come to an end! We had an opportunity to meet and learn from the most amazing women that create and fight for better cities like Jennifer Keesmaat, Fabian Dattner, Lan Marie Nguyen Berg, and many more. We feel empowered and ready for action. We would recommend anybody interested in creating more human, sustainable, and just cities to come to Urban Future. Conference next year!

We are in Helsingborg for Urban Future Conference!

We are in Helsingborg for Urban Future Conference! @urban_future_global_conference - Europe’s leading event to make cities sustainable!

Helsingborg has been ranked as the number one Swedish municipality in sustainability for four years in a row.

One of the innovative projects that they have recently implemented is the new circular three pipe sewer system.

With this system organic waste and wastewater is sorted at the source, using three sewage pipes instead of one. One pipe transports blackwater from the (vacuum) toilet, one transports greywater from bath, shower and washing machine, and finally a special pipe that collects food waste via a kitchen waste grinder. All this waste is transported to a new waste treatment plant where it is turned into biogas, which fuels the local buses, fertiliser pallets and clean water.

This has been implemented in Oceanhamnen - an entirely new city district.
